Russian-to-English Editor
A shout-out to a Russian-to-English editor to join our localization team! You're passionate about video and board games and have proven experience in editing narrative texts. It's a strong plus if you have experience in RU-EN literary/game translation or writing.
Don't worry, you won't be thrown into the wild waters to survive: at all times, you will have direct contact with and gentle support from Riotloc's linguistic and production teams, as well as game developers.
The responsibilities would include:
Proofreading and editing in-game content (dialogues, descriptions, UI) and game marketing materials translated from Russian into English by Riotloc's internal linguistic team.
Ensuring proper style, tone, clarity, accuracy, grammar, consistency, and tag alignment.
Requirements:
English: native proficiency.
Russian: fluent proficiency.
Experience in editing narrative texts in US/UK English.
Understanding of video game terminology, genres, and gameplay mechanics, earned by at least a decade of gaming experience.
Basic understanding of tags and coding.
Experience with MemoQ. It's a big advantage if you aren't seeing it in your nightmares.
Meticulous, scrupulous attention to detail.
Ability to handle tight deadlines without panic (they happen!).
Sensahuma and ability to retain humor and relatability in translated jokes and puns.
Not required but would be great:
If you speak more than two languages...
...and have worked as part of a game development team and know how game development works.
We'd really love to see your portfolio if you have it.
What we offer:
Payments according to your per word / hour rate.
A chance to work on diverse games for PC and consoles. Point of reference: https://www.riotloc.com/games
A passionate global team of legendary translators and developers.
